Placeloader – private location history
Placeloader is the Android app that Axenta GmbH operates and sells: private location history. You save places such as home, work or the gym, and the app automatically records when you arrive and when you leave. This guide covers in detail who Placeloader suits, what you see day to day and how to get the app.
Who Placeloader suits
Placeloader suits anyone who wants their own, honest overview of their days, without setting up an account and without the app showing ads anywhere. It runs on Android 10 and newer, the interface is currently in English, and you get it through Google Play.
If you have ever wondered how much of the week actually went to the office, to training or to client visits, the day and week views give you an honest answer instead of relying on memory.
What you see day to day
With background location access, the app detects arrivals and departures at your saved places through geofences, with no need to open the app for that to happen. The day view shows a ring of time per place, a 24-hour strip and a route map. On the timeline, visits, the legs between places and untracked time sit in one list; gaps stay visible, so it is clear what was recorded and what was not.
- History and trends: search past days, a week view, trends by week, month and year, plus streaks and milestones.
- Notes and corrections: day notes and tags; reassign, retime or delete a visit.
- Widget: a home-screen widget shows the day’s ring and the current place.

The ring loads
You save places such as home or work. When you arrive, the phone detects it through a geofence, and the ring counts the time for that place.

A day, encrypted on the device
The phone records arrivals and departures. Untracked time stays visibly empty. No account, no ads.
The history is especially useful for anything you would otherwise note down by hand, such as a basis for mileage claims or tracking your own hours as a freelancer. The week view, with trends by week, month and year plus streaks and milestones, surfaces patterns that are otherwise easy to miss day to day.
If a visit is wrong, you can reassign it, retime it or delete it, and a day note records why a day looked different from usual. On the home screen, a widget shows the current day’s ring and the place you are at right now, without opening the app to check.
Privacy you control yourself
The history is encrypted on your phone. You can pause tracking at any time, choose to keep raw location data for between 30 days and one year, export your data as JSON and delete it locally. A dedicated dashboard shows what is stored on the phone, what leaves it and how much battery tracking uses. Place suggestions from Google Places and routes snapped to streets run only if you switch them on.
Where Placeloader deliberately draws the line
Placeloader needs no account to work: you install the app, save a place and start. It shows no ads. Both points follow from the on-device encryption: with no account there is no server for your history to sit on, and with no server there is no extra party that would need to pay for it with advertising.
How to get Placeloader
Setup takes a few minutes: after installing, save your first place, such as home, allow background location access and let the app run. Your first visits already show up in the day view the same day, and you can add more places, such as work or the gym, at any time.
Placeloader is available on Google Play for Android 10 and newer. Install the app, save your first place and let it track.
